Primordial Soup Label

Primordial soup is what scientists call the hot organic chemicals that were produced around thermal vents at the beginning of life. They mixed to form amino acids and simple sugars that would be the building blocks for the first cell.

Download this label and put it on a soup can. Put it on your science shelves. Both our upper elementary and middle school students love to read the label. Encourage them to explore the theories behind primordial soup and what the ocean conditions were like over four billion years ago when life began.
